Clilfford L. Paxton

CLIFFORD L. PAXTON, 91, of Prophetstown, IL, died Saturday, December 10, 2016, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling, IL.

Clifford was born March 4, 1925, in Prophetstown, IL, to Charles W. and Sylvia (Egert) Paxton. He was educated in the Portland School in rural Prophetstown. He married Helen D. Summers on November 28, 1945, in Prophetstown. She died August 17, 2004. Clifford engaged in farming in the Prophetstown area. He also was employed by Drives, Inc. in Fulton, IL. He was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church in Prophetstown.

Survivors include one daughter, Judy (Wylie) Tapp of Whitehouse, TX; two sons, Carl (Christine) Paxton of Sterling, IL and Clifford G. Paxton of Prophetstown; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Burdetta Siefken of Prophetstown; three brothers, Larry Paxton of Rock Falls, IL, Lester Paxton of South Carolina and Arlo (Pauline) Paxton of Stockton, IL; a nephew, John Paxton of Kirkland, IL.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; three brothers, Norman, Darrell and Warren Paxton.

Funeral Information

FUNERAL MASS: 11:00 AM  Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Prophetstown, IL

OFFICIATING: Rev. Father Francis Wawryszuk – Pastor of St. Catherine Catholic Church – Prophetstown, IL

VISITATION: 9:30- 10:30 AM  Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at the Bosma-Gibson Funeral Home in Prophetstown, IL

INTERMENT:   Riverside Cemetery – Prophetstown, IL
