Dorothy M. Still

   Dorothy M. Still, 82, of Prophetstown, IL, died Monday, January 9, 2017 at Heartland Health Care Center in Moline.  There will be no services.  Memorials may be made to QC Paws.  Gibson – Bode Funeral Home, Port Byron is handling arrangements.

   Dorothy was born April 29, 1934 in Holdenville, OK, the daughter of Lester and Alline Durbin.  She met George C. Still on a blind date while he was in basic training.  The couple married on December 21, 1952 in Arizona.  They settled in Illinois where she helped raise their four children and worked at GE in Morrison for 29 years, retiring in 1996.

   Dorothy and George loved to travel worldwide to Italy, Greece, Canada, all across the US, including multiple trips to their favorite destination, Hawaii.  Dorothy was an animal lover and leaves behind her beloved dog, Mr. Murphy.  She enjoyed antiquing and belonging to the GEM Club at General Electric.  

   She is survived by her husband George of 64 years; four children, Kenneth (Cindy) Still, Nashville, TN, Mike Still, Prophetstown, IL, Tonya Still, Texas, Laura (Durk) Fogle, Moline; brothers, Bob (Patty) Durbin, San Diego, CA, Howard Durbin, Chula Vista, CA; 12 grandchildren, being especially close with Sarah and Jason, who were at her bedside daily, many great grandchildren, and nieces, Cathy Akker and Susan Still.  She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Lester Durbin.  A special Thanks goes out to “Van Mike” and all the Staff at the Arcadia Unit of Heartland Health Care in Moline.  Share a memory or condolence at www.gibsonbodefh.com
