CHARLES WELCH LAID TO REST

The funeral of the late Charles W. Welch was held last week Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Methodist church which was filled with friends of the deceased. The sermon a beautiful one which brought tears to the eyes of the entire congregation was preached by Rev. George Welch, a son of the deceased and known as the blacksmith evangelist. Music was rendered by a quartette consisting of Mrs. Jack Hellier, Mrs. Neva Denison, Jack Hellier and E. W. Meredeth. There were a large number of beautiful floral tributes among them being remembrances from the Home Department of the Methodist Sunday School, from Mrs. A. T. Glassburn, Mollie E. McMillen. Interment was in the Tampico cemetery - six grandsons, Lester and Chas. Welch, John, Glen, Fred and Harry Renner, being the pall bearers. Mr. Welch leaves fourteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. The following relatives from out of town attended the funeral: Rev. Geo. Welch, wife and son  of Joliet, Mrs. Daley of Sterling, Jennie Watts of Terre Haute, William Welch and family of Elmira, Geo. Phelps of Chicago, Gaylord Welch of Kewanee.
