WELL KNOWN RESIDENT CALLED TO REST

CHARLES F. SIPPEL DIED EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING AFTER LINGERING ILLNESS

The community was again called upon to mourn the loss of a good citizen when Chares F. Sippel, for many years a respected resident of this place, passed away at an early hour this (Wednesday) morning after a lingering illness.

Mr. Sippel had suffered from heart trouble for some time past, and during the last year had not been able to give his entire attention to his business, but had been obliged to remain at home a great deal of the time. Some three weeks ago his condition became serious and in spite of all that medical skill and loving care could do for his relief, he steadily failed until the end came at 12:20 on the morning of April 28.

Mr. Sippel was well known in this and adjoining counties, where he made many friends who will learn of his passing with regret, and whose sympathy is extended to the bereaved family. The funeral services will be Friday afternoon, April 30, at the late residence at 2 o'clock, and at the Tampico Methodist Church at 2:30. a full obitiurary will be published next week.

Charles F. Sippel, son of John and Lizzie Sippel, was born in Shanklangsselt, Germany, December 16, 1861.

At fifteen years of age Mr. Sippel started as an apprentice  harness maker at Annawan. After learning the harness trade he moved to the Dakotas where he worked at his trade. On returnng to Illinois he made his residence at Tampico where he ran a harness shop for about seventeen years. For a number of years, after going out of the harness business, he was the local agent of the Illinois Life Insurance co. In 1920 he moved again to the farm, locating two miles east of Tampico, residing there since.

On September 9, 1891 Mr. Sippel was united in marriage with Susie J. Hughes. Three children were born to this union, Elizabeth Esther, Dean F. and Karl C. Sippel.

Mr. Sippel was a highly respected citizen of this community; always industrious, honest and trustworthy in all that he undertook. A kind and  loving husband and father.

Mr. Sippel had not enjoyed good health for several years. Three weeks ago he was confined to his bed with sickness. Early in the morning of April 28, 1926  he passed away. Aged  65 years, 4 months and 12 days.

"Let us be patient, these severe afflictions
Not from the ground arise;
But oftentimes celestial benedictions
Assume this dark disguise.
We see but dimly through these mists and vapors;
Amid these earthly damps -
What seem to us but funeral tapers,
May be heaven's distant lamps."
