An Old Settler Dead

Crosby McKENZIE one of the old settlers of Prophetstown and a relative of the McKENZIEs of Tampico, died at his home in Prophetstown Monday morning after a sickness lasting for several years. The funeral was held at Prophetstown Wednesday. The deceased was 83 years old and was born in Port Henry, New York. He came west in 1865 and in 1849 was one of the crowd that went to California. He was very well known here and had many friends who with the relatives mourn his departure.
