DEATH OF T. A. SANDERS (Saunders)

One of Tampico's Oldest Citizens Passed Away At His Home Here Tuesday Afternoon

T. A. SANDERS, one of Tampico's aged, well known citizens and a pioneer of this community died at his home in the western part of town, Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock. The aged gentleman had been sick for two years following a bad fall sustained in the backyard. For the past four months, he had been bedfast. Death was due to a complication of heart, kidney and lung trouble aggravated by his advanced years.

The funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the late residence and interment will be at the Tampico cemetery. Rev. C. L. MCCAMMON, pastor of the Methodist church will have the services xx charge.

Thomas Alexander SANDERS was born in Greenup County, Kentucky in xxxx where he spent his early life coming xxx Illinois about sixty years ago and some thirty-five years ago he settled in the vicinity making his home on the far south of Tampico until a few years ago when advancing years caused he and his wife to retire and move to town. He was married fifty nine years ago, Aug. 12 to Miss Hattie BROWN at Keithsburg, Ill., and his good companion who has been his helper for over a half century survives with five (?) children to mourn his loss. They are: Mrs. Hattie RUSSELL, Jennie MAXWELL, Mrs. Will SCOTT, all of Tampico, Mrs. I. J. BOOZ of Barstow and Mrs. W. O. BRIGGS of Cliniton, Iowa. Nine grandchildren also survive.

The deceased was a good citizen, lived a good useful life in the community and leaves many friends who with the relatives will mourn his passing.
