Driver killed in accident by Matt Brennan A man driving an open-bed truck was killed when he was thrown from his vehicle after striking a culvert on Silver Glen Road northeast of Elburn on Tuesday morning, according to Kane County Sheriff Ken Ramsey. The accident involved only one vehicle and occurred at about 8:45 a.m. Ramsey said the vehicle likely struck a culvert along the road, but that the accident is under investigation. The driver of the truck, William Kiecszynski, 41, of Tampico, was killed in the collision, Ramsey said. “Basically, we don't know for sure what happened,” Ramsey said. “One-vehicle accidents are very difficult to reconstruct.” There was a witness to the accident, which will likely help investigators, Ramsey added. Silver Glen Road was closed from Route 47 to Swanberg Road at the time of the accident until about 3:45 p.m., according to Elburn and Countryside Fire Protection District Assistant Chief Tate Haley.
