DANA BELLE McDONALD

TAMPICO - Mrs. Murle (Dana belle) McDONALD, 62, of Tampico, died early Tuesday, May 22, at the Community General Hospital, Sterling.

She was born Jan. 22, 1917 in Athertonville, Ky., the daughter of Charles and Delma Clark POWELL. She married Lester E. JOHNSON on Jan. 26, 1935. He died on Sept. 11, 1963.

She married Murle McDONALD on Oct. 18, 1973, and had resided in the Tampico area for some time.

She was a member of the Yorktown Chuirch of Christ.

Surviving are the husband; two daughters, Mrs. Howard (Patricia) BATTEN and Mrs. V. Wayne (Janice) COOPER, of Tampico, two sons, Robert E. of rock Falls, and Sammy K. JOHNSON, of Tampico; two stepsons, Kenneth McDONALD, of Lyndon, and Verle McDONALD, of Hennepin; 15 grandchildren; three brothers, Horace POWELL, of Louisville, Ky., J. Howard POWELL and Edward POWELL, both of Prophetstown; a sister, Mrs. Harry (Jenny) MARTIN, of Yorktown, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, a brother and a grandson.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 24, in the Tampico Church of Christ, with Rev. Clarke DeVORE and Rev. Darrell BUTTERWOTH, of Yorktown, officiating.

Interment will be in the Tampico Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation is 2 to 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. at Allen - Schmitt - Garland Funeral Home, Tampico.

A memorial has been established.
