GERTRUDE JOHNSON

TAMPICO - Gertrude Z. JOHNSON, 67, Rt. 1, died Friday, Jan. 20, in Rockford Memorial Hopital in Rockford.

She was born Feb. 4, 1916in Normandy to John D. and Cora B. (HOLTZ) BRAASCH. she was married to V. Francis JOHNSON March 30, 1939 and celebrated 44 years of marriage.

She was a ember of the Yorktown Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by one brother.

Survivors include her husband of Tampico; daughter, Mrs. Dorene KNIPPLE of Deerfiled; son, Peter C. of Como; sisters, Mrs. Shirley PEVE of Tennessee and Mrs. Arthur (Carol) FRENCH of Donna, Texas; six grandchildren; one great-grandson.

Funeral will be 2 p.m.Tuesday, Jan. 24, in the Yorktown Church of Christ with the Rev. Butch McNINCH, pastor and the Rev. Allen BAXTER, former pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Tampico Memorial Cemetery. Visitation was 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 23, in Allen-Schmitt Garland Funeral Home.
