Dorothy Wirth

            Dorothy Elaine McDonald Wirth, age 85, formerly of Prophetstown, IL, died at New Beginnings Care Center in Rock Falls, IL, on Tuesday, February 22, 2005.

            Dorothy was born May 7, 1919 in Fairfield Township in Bureau County, IL, the daughter of Alvin Mosley and Grace Mae (Pelton) McDonald.  She graduated from Tampico High School.  She was united in marriage to Harold Wirth.  Her husband Harold (at age 47) and daughter, Judy (at age 15) died in a car accident on December 29, 1962.

            She is survived by: one son, Larry (Chris) of Fairport, NY, three grandchildren, one brother, Lyle (Marge) McDonald of Morrison, IL, and several nieces and nephews. 

            She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, two sisters, Gladys Glassburn, Verda Sweet, and three brothers, Merle, Carrol and Burnell McDonald.

            Funeral services were conducted Feb. 25 at the Garland Funeral Home in Tampico, with the Rev. Clark Devore, pastor of the Tampico Church of Christ officiating.  Cremation rites were accorded after the funeral.
