Richard Williamson

 

            Richard D. Williamson, age 76, of Sterling died Sunday, March 19, 2006 at Sterling – Pavilion Nursing Home of Sterling.

            Funeral services will be Thursday, March 23 at 10:00 a.m. at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls with Reverend John Leaf officiating.  Visitation will be Wednesday, March 22, 2006 from 5 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home.  Burial will conclude the services at Yorktown Cemetery.

            A memorial has been established in his memory.

            Mr. Williamson was born May 11, 1929 in Rock Falls, the son of Earl E. and Dorothy (Boucher) Williamson.  He married Doris Kuepker on September 29, 1957 in Bureau County, Illinois.  He served in the National Guard during the Korean War.  He worked at National Manufacturing as assistant foreman in the plating department for 48 years.  He retired in 1991.  He enjoyed reading mystery and Western books, watching sports, traveling, and smoking his pipe while relaxing.

            Survivors include his wife, Doris Williamson of Sterling; two sons, Richard Williamson, Jr. of Rock Falls, and Brad (Margie) Williamson of Chicago; two grandchildren, Jeremy Williamson and Victoria Williamson; one sister-in-law, Mary Williamson of Sterling; one niece, Carol (Jim) Schultz of Sterling; and one great niece, Amy Schultz of Sterling.

            He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Lloyd Williamson and Robert Williamson.
