Donald G. Parker

 

            Donald G. Parker, 81, formerly of Prophetstown, IL died Saturday, November 5, 2005 in Akron, OH.  Services will be 2:30 P.M. Saturday, November 12th at the Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Prophetstown.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Prophetstown.  Visitation will be from 1:30 P.M. until the time of services.  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Palliative Care Unit of Akron Children’s Hospital, 1 Perkins Square, Akron, OH 44302.

            Don was born on October 2, 1924 in Virden, IL the son of George and Bernice (Richardson) Parker.  He graduated from Virden High School.  He married Melva Lomelino on May 14, 1951 in Palmyra, IL.  She preceded him in death on January 7, 1991.

            Dona was a Navy Veteran of WWII and a fifty year member of Masonic Lodge #293 A.F. & A.M., Prophetstown.

            He is survived by daughters Pamela Parker, Canton, OH, Tamie Parker, Dallas, TX, a son and daughter-in-law Dr. Michael and Marie Parker, Akron, OH, and 5 grandchildren. 

            Don was also preceded by a daughter, Valerie, son Lance, and a granddaughter, Hllary.
