Kay Ahrens Folsom

            Beatrice Kay Folsom, 64, Sterling, IL, died Friday, October 6, 2006 at Swedish Memorial Hospital, Rockford.  Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Prophetstown.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Prophetstown.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.  A memorial fund has been established.

            Kay was born May 21, 1942 in Sterling, IL the daughter of Willis and Jean (Frankenfield) Ahrens.  She graduated from Rock Falls High School, class of 1960.  She married Thomas R. Folsom in Sterling in 2005.  He preceded her later that year.

            Kay was a floral designer and had also worked as a bookkeeper at the former Ramada Inn in Rock Falls.  Most recently she served as the coordinator for the PADS Shelter, Sterling.

            She is survived by aunts and cousins.

            Kay was also preceded by her father in 1992 and her mother in 1996.
