Pierce Simon Moore, Prophetstown, Dies
 

Prophetstown: - Pierce Simon Moore, 66, a barber, died Sunday at 7 p.m. in the Morrison Community hospital.  He had been ill about a week.
 
The body was taken to the  Gardner funeral home in Prophetstown where friends may call.
 
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. CST from the Prophetstown Methodist church with the Rev. C. F. Chasteen officiating.  Burial will be in Riverside cemetery in Prophetstown.
 
A prominent Prophetstown barber for 48 years, he was born on April 15, 1886 in Morrison, the son of John and Lydia Breckbill Moore.  He had lived in Prophetstown for 44 years except for one year in Colorado.
 
He was educated in Morrison schools and was a member of the Masonic lodge and the Methodist church.
 
In 1907 he married Jennie Ladine of Prophetstown in a double ring ceremony with his wife's sister.
 
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Melvin and Robert of Prophetstown; and five grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; one son; three brothers; two sisters; and one grandchild.
