Edith I Verdick, age 51, of 1103 Hickory Hills Road, Rock Falls, Illinois, died Monday, August 16, 1999 in her home.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 19, 1999, at 10 a.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Tampico, with Rev. David Beebe, pastor of the New Bedford Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Tampico Memorial cemetery in Tampico, Illinois. A memorial has been established in her memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital and the Rock River Valley Hospice in lieu of flowers. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 18, form 5-8 p.m. at Garland Funeral Home in Tampico.

Edith was born on December 13, 1947 in Sterling, Illinois the daughter of Gale and Iola Fortune Miller. She was united in marriage on September 24, 1966 in Fort Riley, Kansas to Raymond Verdick. Edith was employed at the Sterling Hearing Aid Center since 1987.

Survivors include her husband Raymond of Rock Falls; one son Gale (Stacy) Verdick of Aurora; one daughter Sandy (Tom) Garcia of Aurora; three granddaughters; one grandson; her parents Gale and Iola Miller of Tampico; two brothers Gary (Bev) Miller of Morrison; and Donald "Pete" Miller of Tampico; three sisters Mrs. Ronald "Patsy" Sharp of Tampico, Donna Johnson of Rock Falls, Mrs. Tom (Karen) Hall of Tampico; numerous nieces and nephews.

Edith was preceded in death by one sister Linda and one brother Billy Gale Miller.
