ELGIN - Irene L. Jones, 81, of Elgin, formerly of the area, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007, at her daughter's home. She owned Brass and Silks Gift Shop from 1984 to 1992, before retiring; and was employed by Belscot Department Store, Rock Falls, as the ladies and children's clothing manager.

Mrs. Jones was born March 25, 1926, in Walnut, the daughter of Homer and Minerva (Fordham) Henson. She married Lee Jones. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include two daughters, Diane (Bill) Glick, of Elkhart, Ind., and Debra (Dave) Spink, of Elgin; a son, Mickey (Dianna) Jones, of Lake Zurich; two sisters, Sandy (Dick) Hall and Gloria (Harry) Johnson; three brothers, Jack (Betty) Henson, Buck (Betty) Henson and Ron (Evelyn) Henson; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by a sister, Sylvia Childs; and two brothers, Bobby Henson and Lawrence Henson.

The funeral is at 10 a.m. Saturday at Harvest Time Bible Church, Rock Falls, with the Rev. Dalmus Meeks, pastor, officiating. Burial is at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the church. Arrangements were completed by Glueckert Funeral Home, Arlington Heights, and Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling.

A memorial has been established to Harvest Time Bible Church, Rock Falls.
