Carl Buchwald Of Rock Falls Dies
 
Carl Buchwald, 419 Garden Circle, Rock Falls, passed away Thursday afternoon in Community General Hospital after an extended illness.
 
Born Sept. 2, 1899 in Fairfield Township, Ill., he was the son of August and Bertha Frank Buchwald.
 
He had resided in this area his entire life and in Rock Falls since 1924. For 30 years, he was employed by RB&W Bolt and Nut Co., retired Aug. 6, 1956, due to ill health.

He was united in marriage to Mabel Burdick, Dec. 31, 1926 at Dixon and was a member of the Immanual Lutheran Church of Rock Falls.
 
Surviving are, his wife and one son, Palmer Buchwald of Chicago;  and one daughter, Mrs. Paul (Marilee) Williams of Gurnee;  three brothers, Edward Buchwald of Sterling;  Herman Buchwald of Bettendorf, Iowa; and William Buchwald of Prophetstown;  and two sisters, Mrs. Cecil Wheelock of Tampico;  and Mrs. Fred Holquist of Rock Falls.  There are three grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
 
The body was moved to the Melvin Funeral Home, where friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. this evening (Friday).
 
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Melvin Funeral Home, the Rev. E. A. Hinrichs, pastor of the Immanual Lutheran Church of Rock Falls will officiate and burial will take place in the IOOF Cemetery in Rock Falls.
