Carrie May Hunter Services Friday
 
Tampico: - Carrie May Hunter, 85, Tampico, died Wednesday afternoon at Rock Falls Colonial Acres Nursing Home.
 
Funeral services will be at the Schmitt Chapel at Tampico, Friday, at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Clark Devore, pastor of  Tampico Church of Christ, will officiate, with burial at Tampico Memorial Cemetery.  Friends may visit at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. Thursday.
 
Mrs. Hunter was born near Yorktown, Sept. 5, 1886, the daughter of Edwin and Destiny Scott Winchell.  She was educated in Yorktown schools. She married McKenzie L. Pierce Nov. 27, 1902, at her home in Yorktown; he died July 31, 1942. She later married Merle Hunter who preceded her in
death in California.
 
She lived her entire life in the Tampico vicinity except for a few years in Canada and California.  She was a member of the Church of Christ at Compton, Calif.
 
Survivors include one grandson, Gordon M. Pierce, South Holland; one great-grandson and one sister, Lillian Allen, Fountain Valley, Calif.
 
She was preceded in death by her husbands, one sister, one brother and one son, Edwin.
