Peter M. Burke Dies Monday
 
Peter M. Burke, 74, of RR 2 Tampico, died Monday morning at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Clinton, Iowa.    Funeral services will be held Tuesday with a 9:30 a.m. prayer service at the Allen-Schmitt-Garland Funeral Chapel in Tampico.  Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Eugene Parker officiating.  Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Tampico.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 8-9 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
 
A memorial has been established to the Whiteside County Heart Fund.
 
He was born Dec. 24, 1913 in Tampico, the son of James and Alice Fagan Burke. He married Mary O'Malley and farmed in the Tampico area his entire life.  He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Tampico and the Sterling Knights of Columbus.
 
Survivors include his widow;  one son, Michael at home; one daughter, Joan also at home; one stepson Lawrence Stayton of Sacramento, Calif.; one brother, Joseph Burke of Tampico; one sister, Mrs. Helen Sibley of Prophetstown.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
