DARLENE  C.  JOHNSON
 
DARLENE  C. JOHNSON -  83, 615 16th Ave., Sterling died early Tuesday evening in her home after a long illness.  Funeral services will be held on Friday morning at 10:30 a.m. at the Allen Funeral Home, Sterling, with the Rev. Clark Moushon, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, Sterling, officiating. Burial will be in Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling. Friends may call at the Allen Funeral home on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.  A. memorial has been established in her memory to the Cancer Fun.
     Darlene Johnson was born on Aug. 12, 1900, in Hume Townhip, the daughter of James and Lena Pollock Wetzell.  On April 14, 1923 she was united in marriage to Gust Johnson. They lived most of their married life in the Sterling-Tampico area.  He preceded her in death on Feb. 22, 1970. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Sterling.
     Surviving are two sons, Arthur and Kenneth, both of Sterling; two daughters, Mrs. Walter (Madolyn) DeDecker, Anawan, and Mrs. Lyle (Mildred) Holy, Orlando, Fla;  10 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Charles (Lela) Gaumer, Sterling; and one brother, Fremont Wetzell, Adeline.   She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, and three sisters.
