MOLLY  VonHOLTEN
 
Mrs. Molly VonHolten, 87, of 2010A 4th Ave., in Sterling, died Sunday evening in Sterling Care Center following a short illness.
 
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Rock Falls Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Dennis Heaney and Rev. Ruth Hansen, co-officiating. Burial will be in Tampico Memorial Cemetery in Tampico. Visitation will be Tuesday after 2 p.m. at the Allen Funeral Home in Sterling with the family present from 6-8 p.m. only.  A memorial has been established in her memory to the Rock Falls Immanuel Lutheran Church.
 
Mrs. VonHolten was born on July 24, 1900 in Aberdeen, Scotland, the daughter of Andrew and Ann Scott Whyte.She was united in marriage to Christ Martin VonHolten on Dec. 23, 1924 in Rock Falls, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 6, 1948.  Mrs. VonHolten was a member of the Rock Falls Immanuel Lutheran Church.
 
Survivors include one son, Martin VonHolten of rural Walnut; one daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Mary) Wuebben of Sterling; four grandchildren, five great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Harry (Cecelia) Hurd of Tampico; and several nieces and nephews.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter and three sisters.
