RICHARD  L.  HEITZLER
 
Prophetstown: - Richard L. Heitzler, 61, of Route 2 in Prophetstown, died Wednesday in his home.
 
Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hooppole with Rev. Francis Engels officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Hooppole.  Visitation will be Friday from 7-9 p.m. at the Gardner Funeral Home in Prophetstown with Rosary recited at 7 p.m.  A memorial has been established to St. Mary's Catholic Church.
 
Mr. Heitzler was born on Dec. 4, 1925, in Henry County, the son of William M. and Mary G. Copeland Heitzler. He was educated in Hooppole and graduated from Prophetstown High School in 1943.  On Nov. 12, 1949 he was united in marriage to Shirley Klockenga of Prophetstown.  The couple farmed at their present home for 36 years. The deceased was a life-long member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hooppole.
 
Survivors include his wife; three duaghters, Mrs. Don (Laurie) Gibler of Auburn, Vickie Copper of Prophetstown, and Julie Heitzler at home; one son, David L. Heitzler of Geneseo, seven grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Don (Lucille) Bomleny of Hooppole.
 

He was preceded in death by his parents
