Thelma Lauritzen



WALNUT — Thelma V. Lauritzen, 88, of 308 S. Second St., Walnut, died Saturday, March 8, 2008, at Walnut Manor Nursing Home in Walnut.

Born Jan. 30, 1920, in Prophetstown to Robert and Diana (Denton) Glass, she married Robert L. Lauritzen March 4, 1940, in Davenport, Iowa. He died April 5, 2003.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Red Hat Society.

Surviving are one son, Larry (Karen) Lauritzen of Ohio, Ill.; one sister, Dorothy Comp of Buda; one daughter-in-law, Joyce (Robert) Lauritzen of Tampico; eight grandchildren, Robbin Klockenga, Joy Williams, Robert Lauritzen, Russell Lauritzen, Jenny (Mike) Lucas, Debra Dahl, Deena Brants and Diana Lauritzen; 20 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother; one son, Robert; and one granddaughter.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today, Tuesday, in the Garland Funeral Home, Walnut, with the Rev. Paul Nolden, pastor of the United Methodist Church in Walnut, officiating. Burial will be in the Walnut Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the services.

Memorials may be directed to Walnut Manor Nursing Home or the Walnut Fire Department.
