GORDON ‘Steven’ NELSON

Tampico: - Gordon “Steven” Nelson, 39, of 207 S. Benton St., died Wednesday evening at the Iowa City Veterans Hospital. Funeral services at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Garland Funeral Home, Tampico, followed at 10:30 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Tampico. Burial in St. Ann’s Cemetery in Toluca.

A memorial has been established.

He was born July 6, 1950 in Sterling, the son of Gordon and Anna Donnelly Nelson. He is a veteran of the U.S.Army, serving in Vietnam. He graduated from Tampico grade and high schools and is a member of the Iron Workers Local Union 393.

He is survived by two sons: Dax and Jared, both of Tampico; one daughter, Manessa Deon, LaSalle; mother Anna, Tampico; father Gordon of Rockford; four brothers, Mike, Las Vega, James, Rock Falls, Bill, Battle Creek, Michigan, Richard, Deer Grove.
