JESSE SLAWSON was born in Oneida county, New York, in 1809, and came to Portland in 1836. He was a carpenter by trade, and also followed farming near Spring Hill, while he was a resident of Portland. He now lives in Nebraska. Mr. SLAWSON married Miss Rachael M. FULLER, in 1833. Their children are: Andrew, who married Miss Catharine JOICE, and lives in Missouri; Jesse D., who married Miss Lucy KINNEY, and lives in Nebraska; Chales H., who married Miss Lydia BRIGGS, and lives in Kansas; Earl B., who married miss Cordelia BROWN, and lives in Nebraska; Howard F., who married Miss Mary HEPWORTH, and lives in New York; Seth H., who married Miss Jennie PATCH, and lives in Portland; and Mary L., wife of Merritt CLIFTON, living in Portland.
