Many people seem to think Ronald Reagan was born in Dixon, Illinois since he spent his childhood there. I'm sure this must irk Tampico.
Here's a little lyric I've written to help correct that sad situation. If anyone is interested in hearing how it sounds (with guitar accompaniement) contact me at jahncee@3yahoo.com. We might get together and have some Tampicans perform the little ditty and put it on line.

He Was born right here in Tampico

Way back there in nineteen eleven, one hundred years ago
a man the world calls Ronald Reagan was born right here in
TAMPICO

He was born right here in
TAMPICO
born right here in
TAMPICO
it's time for the whole wide world to know
he was born right here in
TAMPICO

Other cities raised him and sent him on his way
to the presidency and history
but he was here on his
BIRTHday

He was born right here in
TAMPICO
born right here in
TAMPICO
the finest president we're ever gonna know
was born right here in
TAMPICO

Very Clever, John. (smile) - You should put it on You Tube. You are correct - many think his "boyhood" home of Dixon is where he was born, even people in Whiteside Co. It amazes me. And, whenever I poll local residents if they have ever taken the tour of the Birthplace, it is surprising how many have NOT!

I don't know if this message board has an edit function, but my email addy was wrong.
My email address is jahncee@yahoo.com.

Thanks, Denise.I suppose I could put it on You Tube, if I could find someone with a camera, but I'd rather see some younger people or even older people who are residents of Tampico singing it with the fervor that one might sing a school song with.
