Hello,
I have read many articles on this site pertaining to Fred and Charles Seymour and was wondering if anyone may have additional information.

My GGGreat grandmother was Lillie Seymour Quick daughter of ???? Seymour and Elizabeth Bowman. A book researching the Quick family listed Lillie's father as George Seymour of Tampico, Il of which I have never found. A family genealogy file listed Lillie's father as a Hervey/Harvey Seymour b. abt 1856 in Tampico and once again I have never found this person.

I have a suspicion that Elizabeth Bowman married H.H. Seymour the father of Fred and Charles but I cannot prove this. H.H. Seymour's wife, Martha, died in May 1880 and the supposed Bowman Seymour marriage took place abt. 1881 in Whiteside Co. and again I have never found a record of a marriage.

Elizabeth Bowman was half sister to Emma Alice Bowman who married Fred. H. Seymour so it is likely that the Seymour Elizabeth married is related to the same Seymour family.

If anyone has any information I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you in advance,
Tracy

Les,
Thank you for your post. I had seareched all through the Illinois database and came up with nothing as well.

I guess it's back to hoping I run across a related family member that had a family bible or something with information.

Thanks again,
Tracy

My husband's great great uncle was Charles Seymour. In his obituary it mentions a half-sister Mrs. Lillie Quick as deceased. Charles Seymour's death certificate lists his father as Harvey Seymour and mother as Martha J. Paddock. Charles died 12-9 1926. Hope this helps. Sheryl

I wanted to mention that in Charles Seymour's obituary it mentions sisters Julia, Addie (Adelide), and half-sister Lillie as deceased. The obituary mentions sisters Clara and Adeline and brother Fred as living. I have the 1860, 1870, 1880 records for Harvey Seymour. In the 1860 census Harvey and Martha (parents) have Charles 3 yrs, twins Ada(e)line and Ada(e)lide 5 years old, Julia 11 yrs, and Francis 11 mo old. In the 1870 census Adelide and Francis aren't listed. 1870 census has Harvey, Martha, Adaline 16 yrs, Charles 14 yrs, Clara 11 yrs and Fred 5 yrs. 1880 census has Charles and wife Ester living with his father H.H. Seymour and brother Fred 15 yrs. Charles later married my husband's great great aunt Anna Tank in 1889.

Denise and Sheryl,

I thank you both so much for helping me finding out, without a doubt, that H. H. Seymour was indeed my third great grandfather!! My great grandmother, Darline Quick, is still living and she is going to be so excited to see the picture of her grandparents.

I really appreciate this information,
Thank you again!
