leeman 1 post 26-Jun-2007 2:12 PM	I am looking for burial sites, names of cemetery, town, state where the following relatives are buried: William A. Carloss and Fanny Rebecca Cox Carloss, B 1844; John Carloss, William Carloss, Richard Marion Carloss, Lanny Carloss, Thomas Cooke Carloss, and James Ralph Carloss. This is Father, Mother, and 6 boys. They lived in Alvord, Tx, some moved to Mangum, Ok and we never heard from or saw any of them again. Richard Marion is our grandfather and is buried in Ball Knob, Alvord, Tx. 1900. Please help find where these are buried.

Denise 27 post s 8-Aug-2007 9:14 PM	I am a little confused. . . You knew these relatives - and your grandfather died in 1900? What brings you to Tampico, IL? There are five other Tampico's in the US and also Tampico, Mexico. Here is a 1910 Census. The surname was indexed as "Carlon" - However, when you view the actual census record, it is clearly "Carloss" Are you sure Fanny was married to "William"? I could not find any Wm. married to a Fanny. The Harry or H. C. and Fanny show up on several census records. Hary O is listed as the "husband" - but he would have been 10 years old when "son" William was born. Since the next census shows him as being one year older than Fannie, we could safely assume this is mis-transcribed in this 1880 census! Mark 1 post 13-Jul-2008 6:32 AM	I am the source of the genealogical information posted by Denise. My great-grandfather was Richard Marion Carloss who died and was buried in Wise County, Texas. I have done some research on the Carloss line. Apparently, all white Carloss family members from the mid-nineteenth century back were descended from one man, Cole Carloss, listed in the 1790 North Carolina census. There are numerous black Carloss's owing their name to slaves held by the Carloss family in Kentucky. I know nothing of the Carloss family other than what I have learned from census records. I would love to hear from other Carloss descendants.

I am going on memory since my email service provider has obliterated my email address book several times (I kept all of my notes on contacts in the address book). If memory serves, I communicated with this person via email and she realized she was referring to a source in Tampico, INDIANA! I am forwarding your post on to her and hopefully she will get in contact with you. Thanks for letting us know that you are the source for the genealogical reports listed above. Ancestry on has it listed on the ONE WORLD compilation, with no "source." I will edit the above post with a reference to you. Richard Marion and Lula Ida Foster Carloss had 3 girls, Bettie, Belle, Bennie Merly, and Bethel. Richard took T.B. and died in 1900. He is buried at Ball Knob, near Alvord, Tx. Bethel is my Mother. Bethel married Arthur Wade Cunningham in 1915 and had 8 children, Rena Ruth, Richard Wade, Ozro Wayland, Eugene, Rosale, Mildred, A. W. Jr., and Leeman. Lula is buried in Caddo, Ok. I have some family info on the Carloss family but there is a woman cousin in Anchorage Alaska who has more and is part of the family also. Her name is Helen Burkes, email is Hmburkes@aol.com. Hary O, not sure what is correct, children are John, William, Richard Marion, Lanny, Tom who was the doctor, and James Ralph. These names were given to me by Richard's daughter Bennie Meryl who was borned and raised in Alvord and knew all these brothers. The Mother and Father were dead. In fact she only said Grandpa Carloss but named Rebecca Cox Carloss. Richard Marion and wife Lula Ida Foster Carloss had 3 girls, Bettie, Belle, Bennie Merly, and Bethel. Richard died in 1900 of T.B. leaving 4 little girls, Bethel was 2 years old. We are from Bethel. Bethel married Arthur Wade Cunningham in 1915 and had 8 children, Rena Ruth, Richard wade, Ozro Wayland, Eugene, Rosalee, Mildred, A. W. jr., and Leeman. Richard is buried in Ball Knob near Alvord,Tx, Lula in Caddo, Ok, Arthur and Bethel in Alvord, tx. I have more info on the Carloss and Cunningham families. How are you related to the carloss' family? I was actually Googling for information on Foster Methodist Church in Wise County, Texas, and your website was at the top of the list. Completely accidental, but fortuitous. Leeman, I am a grandson of Bennie Myrle Carloss and her husband, Ernest Edward Alexander. I knew that Bethel was married to a Cunningham, but no more. I have a little more info on the descendants of other sisters, and have recently learned quite a bit about the Carloss line through census records on the Internet. Any additional information you can provide will be appreciated. I will e-mail you shortly.
