Hello everyone! Ive been doing some research (online and at the Tampico historical society) on the McCabe family and home which came from the Burden family. I have found the family tree, but I am more interested in the land and house that was built on the Burden land in which William(?) Burden gave his daughter (whom married a McCabe) south of Tampico. There was a school built on the same plot of land--- Burden school which is no longer here anymore, but I would love to see any extra pictures, history, or information that anyone may have!!
Thanks so much for any input!

Hi Jessica,
I told Sharon Callaghan about your research a while back and she was delighted. She has a lot of info on the Burden family and asked me to tell you to please contact her! There are also photos of the Burden school on the site and at the historical society.

Paul Kaiser is another person to talk to about the schools.
Good Luck in your research.

My gggrandmother was a sister to Eleanor Fitzgerald Burden. I have quite a bit of information on the family, but am not very up to date. Any help? Geraldconway@cox.net.

Theres not much left of the McCabes or Burden families in this area... Eleanor did not have any children, and as for her siblings- I dont know much about them. I know that Eleanor has some family in Chicago, that I know of. Most (including Eleanor herself) were buried in St.Marys Cemetary in Tampico, IL. Some of the Burden family members were buried in Yorktown, IL... Just down from Eleanors house on IL HWY 92. Any questions in specific that you have?
