I just found information that Julia E. nee PITNEY, who married Henry "Clay" DOW and then Job GREENMAN, died in Rock Falls, IL on December 23, 1934.

Is there an Obit for Julia? If so, can someone please transcribe and post it on this site?

Thanks,
Les

Just saw a posting regarding Job Greenman and wondered if you had any information on my Greatgrandfather Jay Greenman, wife's name Cora. We believe she was married to Nels Swanson before her marriage to Greenman. They lived in Tampico.

Jay worked for and retired from Lawrence Bros. Sterling.

Jay's brother's name was Wiley. He owned a drug store in Tampico.

Footnote: McCombs and Egerts from Tampico are also family.

Thanks to anyone who has any information.

Let me check the archives. I know we had a Burt D. Greenman who owned a drug store here in town, ca. 1910 or so. He died 1930 - see his obit on this site. There should be a brief history on that on the site. I am not familiar with a Jay or Wiley Greenman - but that means nothing! I am assuming you have a done a site-search already. I'll post if I find anything new.

Hopefully others can add to this.

Here is some preliminary info on JAY GREENMAN, just as a point of reference:

You are correct that Cora was married to Nels Swanson. Another relative, Bonnie Swanson came here about 4 years ago looking for information on Nels- Nels was my ggrandmother's brother. She said that he had been married to Cora. She also said that she beleived that both Cora and Stacey Swanson were buried in Oak Knoll cemetery in Sterling. I did call the cemetery and thay had a record that Stacey was in deed buried there but did not have any record of Cora being buried there.
When time permits I wiil go to the cemetery and look for both of them.
