The following was posted by "bb" in our "This Week in Tampico History" message thread. I thought it might get better exposure here:

Does anyone know what happened to the Pierceson family? Dean, his Mother lovingly known as Gram, or his nephews? I know Kent married a girl named Gail and they had Lindsey and Austin Kent Tyler Pierceson and moved to Granbury. What ever happened to their land in Tampico? bb

I know that Kraig now lives in Rockford- If Gram Is Eileen- she has passed away as has Dean.
They nephews do still own the land in the Tampico area. My dad Glenn Pierceson was a first cousin to Francis Pierceson-( Kraig & Kent's dad) & Dean.

Thank you "Debra" for your information on the Pierceson family. Do you know if Kent and Kraig lease their land, or do they farm it themselves? I know Dean died in l992. Do you know when Eileen died? I remember she was in her late 80's the last time I talked to the family. Thanks so much for any information.

Hi BB- I do know the land was being farmed by our cousin John( nickname Tude) Pierceson - not sure if he is leasing it from them or not.
I met Kraig for the first time ywo years ago when we had a family reunion. A very nice man.
My dad had told me about them but never had the opportunity to meet any of them until then
I delivered Eilleen's paper for a few years but I never saw her- I did hear that she did know who I was though.
It is so sad that families drift apart- miss alot of information that way.
Were you a friend of the family?

Thanks Debra and Denise for the information. Looks like Kent and Kraigs grandmother, Eileen, died when she was 99 years old! Since both had lost their parents years ago, I am sure it was a great loss for them both. Their Uncle Dean was Kent's idol, and was very admired since he took sole care of their grandmother. Yes, I am an old friend living in Texas now. Just think of them and wonder how they are doing. Thanks again for any information.

Dear BB- You are so welcome for the information.
Dean was such a wonderful man to have taken care of his MOM like that- I am not sure who took care of her after he passed away- I think the fact that she was 99 is correct- some hardy pioneer stock there!
