I'm looking for information on Bealuh Russell b 1910, daughter of Elmer Ross Russell and Eva D Bryson. After Bealuh parents divorces she went to live with her maternial grandparents Thomas T & Laura (Toms) Bryson. I do not know what happened to her after the 1920 census.

Bealuh is my husband grandmother's niece.

Welcome marose1,
I am having difficulty finding these names. Could you please tell me what town they lived in?

Hey Denise, This is Chris' friend Margaret. Bealuh Russuell was in P'town on the 1920 census with her grandparents. Some time between her parents getting divorced (1911) and the 1920 census she went to live with grandparents and her mom married Bert C Woodyatt 1912.
Understand that there might be a man (Jack Pritchard)that post on your website that might be able to help, but do not know how to contact him.

Hey Margaret! Good to have you on board. Most likely, Mr. Pritchard has viewed the post and will offer any assistance if he can. I will also send him an email, just incase he is away from the site right now.

Beulah Russell:

23 Jan. 2003 I sent time at the Whiteside Court House and found nothing on her. I have also searched the Sterling Public Library, and nothing found.

Beulah's Grandmother (Clara Love Overley)was a sister to one of my Great Grandfathers.

The short answer is that I have not found her after the census when she was young. It could be that she is the SSN: in California.

Name: Beulah Russell
SSN: 552-22-0027
Last Residence: 93454 Santa Maria, Santa Barbara, California,
Born: 5 Oct. 1910
Died: Feb. 1966
State Issued: California (Before 1951)

I have yet to find her in the California Death Index, but should be listed. (Var. Spl. etc.)

Her Great Grandfather Seneca and Tabitha (Rodgers) Russell were one of our Whiteside early settlers.

I found the Beulah Russell you were speaking ofon CA Death Index. The trouble is she was born in Michigan and her mothers maiden name is Adams.

I wonder if Beulah was living with Warner & Clara Russell in 1930? What do you think??? Also I was told (can't remember who) that after Beulah's Grandfater Bryson died Beulah and her Grandmother Bryson went to live with Annie Janvrin (Beulah's aunt), but she is not on the 1930 census with them.

What are you thoughts on all this???

Margaret,

Sterling Gazette, 29 Jan. 1910 Page 1 Col. Two:
Eva files Bill for a Legal Seperation, and Filed for Divorce.

9 Dec. 1912 she married, Ethelbert Woodyatt. As Beulah was born 1910, she was at or just months beyond age 2. I wonder if Beulah was raised with the Woodyatt name. I'll include Eva's obit. Beulah might be found by tracking Lyle and Leroy in the following;

EVA (BRYSON) WOODYATT , Mrs. Bert Woodyatt passed away at her home, 304 7th Ave., Sunday morning at 12:30 o’clock. The funeral services were held from the home Monday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock. Rev. Calloway officiated. Interment was made at Riverside Cemetery. Mrs. Woodyatt had been ill for over a year with tuberculosis. Her maiden name was Eva Bryson. She was born in Sterling, July 7, 1882. Her father and mother were Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Bryson, of Prophetstown. She attended the Rock Falls Schools and early in life became a member of the Christian Church. She was married in February of 1909 to Ross Russell, one child, Beulah, was born to this union. Her second marriage was to Bert Woodyatt on Dec. 9, 1912, Two children were born to this union, Lyle and LeRoy. Besides her husband and children, she leaves her parents, two sisters, Mrs. Earl Janvrin; and Mrs. Charles Mangers of Sterling.
Sterling Daily Gazette Sept. 3, 1918

The short obit of Beulah's father (Ross) 11 March 1958, says he leaves five children, but they were unnamed.

Thank you for posting Eva's obit. I have posted Ross' obit on Whitside Trails. Beulah is not listed in eather of her brothers obits. The closest mention to her is in Lyle Janvrin Woodyatt's obit (2006). It states that he has 3 sisters that are already dead.

I guess we will never know what happened to Beulah unless I can get hold of one of her nieces or nephews.

Margaret
