The Tampico Area Historical Society encompasses parts of Whiteside County and Bureau County in Illinois. Focus is on Tampico, Hume Twp., Hahnaman/Deer Grove, & Prophetstown in Whiteside County & Yorktown & Thomas in Bureau County.

I am often asked "what/who were the MODERN WOODMEN OF AMERICA"? Here is one of the ads in a June 4, 1925 Tornado newspaper:
TAMPICO CAMP NUMBER 9 - MODERN WOODMEN OF AMERICA, TAMPICO, ILLINOIS
The largest and strongest Fraternal Insurance organization in the U. S.
Regular meeting nights the first and third Thursdays of each month.
