TAHS Website Updates for October 2007

With the holidays approaching, I always think contributions
will slow down, but I am ALWAYS proven wrong. Once again,
you have all come through. We have a micro-fische reader, a
new computer for our Family History Library/Research
Center, monetary donations towards our roof fund,
historical and/or genealogical information submitted to the
website and helping hands at the historical society. Thanks
to you all! It means SO much to SO many people.

Nov. 3, 7 p.m. - SWAT (Students with a testimony) will
entertaining with songs and even a puppet show. Something
for everyone!
Nov. 4, Remember to turn your clocks back one hour!
Nov. 5, Community Club meets in Dutch Diner at 12 noon.
(all are invited)
Nov. 6, TAHS Board Meeting 7p.m.
Nov. 7, 4:30 - 7:00 p.m. - Tampico United Methodist Church
Ham Supper
Nov. 10, Giving Tree, Mini Festival of Trees auction,
refreshments, in Community Bldg. 11-4 p.m. Contact: Shirley
Lester, Kay Lancaster, Denise Mickelson or Joan Johnson.
Please plan on attending this worth-while community event.
Nov. 10, St. Mary's Draw-down - Help them get their new
boiler. (I'm sorry, I do not have more details on this
event. Please contact Bertha Driessens or Sharon Callaghan
for more details)
Nov. 11, Annual Veteran's Day Memorial Service in Reagan
Park. 11:00 a.m. Refreshements served in the Tampico Area
Historical Society immediately following. A memorial with
our area vets will be on display.
Nov. 17, Prophetstown Christmas parade (see our HY&T entry)
Nov. 27, 7p.m. - TAHS meeting. Guest speaker, Harold
Wright. Mr. Wright will be doing a presentation on the
Eclipse Lawn Mower Co. and it's relationship to Tampico.
The Ronald Reagan Birthplace & the Tampico Area Historical
Society are now closed until the 2008 Season. If you would
like to visit either building, please contact Joan Johnson,
