Greetings - Present, former/future Tampico Historical Society members:
Monthly May meeting is this Tuesday, May 24 at Museum at 7 PM. Program will be Ron Slack speaking on "Stealing Lincoln's Body". Business meeting will precede the program. CURRENT BUSINESS: Annual Dues - If you have joined the society at some time and have failed to continue with the annual dues of $10. individual and $15. family, please consider re-joining or AT LEAST making a donation to the organization. We thank the "Lifetime Members" for continuing to support us. The future of the society depends on cooperation of the members both financially and physically (by helping in the Museum and/or volunteering on committees). Currently we are conducting the "adopt-a-grave" program, where we will place artificial floral arrangements on graves in the local cemeteries. You may call your order to Joan 815-622-8705 by Wed. - 5/25/11- and we will take care of it for you. Prices range from $5.00 to $25.00 (see the website for samples). This is one of our fund raisers during the year and it also helps beautify the cemeteries as well. The Annual Cemetery Walk is scheduled for Monday, May 30 (Memorial Day) at 10:00 AM starting at St. Mary's Cemetery and continuing in Memorial Cemetery (in case of rain at Community Building).
