Red Cross Auction 1917

Red Cross Auction 1917

View of west side of Main Street. First building on left is Tampico State Bank (owned by Glassburn), next is Pitney Clothing & Shoe store, where Jack Reagan worked as a shoe salesman. The next building was also owned by Mr. Pitney and was a dry goods store. This is captioned as a Red Cross Auction in 1917. You can see the old train depot to the left of the bank.

I am in the process of looking up the Tampico Tornado newspapers to see what it was for - I would guess for the War.
