 Hand-written Obituary

Johan Olson was born Dec. 21, 1842 at Kroneberg San, Verastad Forsamling, Sweden. Died Sept. 6, 1931 at Tampico, Ill. Age 88 years, 8 months, 15 days.

He was the child of Olof Johanson and Ellen Hokinson Johnson to which union thirteen children were born. All of whom have preceded him in death but one sister, Mrs. Ingrid Peterson.

He landed in America Oct. 18, 1889 and came to the vicinity of New Bedford where he engaged in farming before moving to a farm at Thomas as where he joined his brother Engerman Olson and family with whom he has continued to make his home. On Mar 1, 1913 they retired farming and came to Tampico, Ill., to make their home.

While living in the vicinity of New Bedford he was a member of the Swedish Lutheran Church. 
He leaves to mourn one sister, Mrs. Engrid Peterson, Nephew and nieces and friends and sister-in-law, Mrs. Emma Olson.

Newspaper clipping - TAMPICO - The funeral service for John Olsson (sic) ws held Tueday afternoon at the home of is sister-in-law, Mrs. Emma Olsson, Rev. F. T. Palm officiated. Mrs. J. M. Conroy san two beauriful humns, "Jesus Savior Pilot Me," and "Rock of Ages," accompanied by Mrs. R. F Woods at the piano.

Many pay tribute - The house was filled with relaitves and friends who assembled to pay a last tribute to his memory. Beautiful floral offerings brought to the hour their silent message of love and sympathy.

The pall bearers were r. L. Glassburn, Swan Crosell, Charles Morrell, Nels Nielsen, Gus Johnson and Peter Peterson. Interment was in the Tampico cemetery.
