MADELINE  M.  (DeBlaere)  MAES

 

Prophetstown: - Madeline M. Maes, 89, of 909 Washington St., died Monday at the Prophets Reverview Center.

 

Private family services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Gardner Funeral Home with the Rev. Father William Morrissey, officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Tampico. There will be no visitation.

 

A memorial has been established.

 

Mrs. Maes was born Jan. 4, 1901, in France, the daughter of Edmond and Emma VanDePutte DeBlaere.  She moved to Belgium and then to the United States in 1905.  She was educated in the East Moline schools. She married Rene Maes Dec. 24, 1917, in Jessup, Iowa. He died in 1964.  They moved to this area in 1936. She was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church.

 

She is survived by a daughter, Margaret Boelena, Polo; three sons, Camiel (Mike), Arthur, and Robert, all of Prophetstown; five grandchildren; six great grandchildre; a sister, Edna Shaw, Marion, Iowa.

 

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary; and a son, Henry.
