RICHARD  R.  RANK

 

Rock Falls: - Richard R. Rank, 65, of 1108 8th Avenue, Rock Falls, died Friday at CGH Medical Center, Sterling, following a short illness.

 

Prayer services will be 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Wheelock-Allen Funeral home, Rock Falls, followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Andrews Catholic Church, Rock Falls., with Father Bernard Mullane, pastor, officiating.  Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Tampico.  Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with a 3 p.m. rosary recited.

 

Mr. Rank was born Dec. 8, 1925 in Sterling, the son of Russell S. and Hermine (Behrends) Rank. He married Theresa A. Burden, Nov. 4, 1950 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Tampico.  He was a postman for the Rock Falls Post Office for 30 years prior to his retirement on Dec. 19, 1987. He was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church and Choir, Rock Falls, the Rock Falls V.F.W. Post #5418, the Sterling Moose Lodge, the 40 and 8 Club, and the Rock Falls American Legion Post #902.  He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

 

He is survived by his wife; one son, Robert (Vickie) Rank, Rock Falls; four daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Susan) Carter, Milleldgeville, Mrs. Duane (Terri) Pinkson, Rock Falls, Mrs. Kevin (Sandra) Keltner, Pearl City, and Mrs. David (Cynthia) Taylor, Dixon; 11 grandchildren; his step-father, Fred Landis, Rock Falls; two sisters, Lois Kooy, and Mrs. Paul (Leona) House Jr., both of Sterling.
