Paul Covill




WALNUT - Paul G. Covill, 68, of 301 S. Second St., Walnut, died Sunday, June 22, 2008, at Methodist Medical Center, Peoria. He was employed by Bureau Valley North as a custodian; was self-employed as a window and screen repairman; and a member of the Walnut Fire Department for 18 years.


Mr. Covill was born Jan. 15, 1940, in Amboy, the son of Gordon and Hulda (Spencer) Covill. He served in the Army for three years. He married Charlene Valt on May 12, 1962, in Walnut.


Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Teri Regal and Paula Covill, both of Walnut; and two grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents.


Memorial service is at 2 p.m. Sunday at Garland Funeral Home, Walnut, with the Rev. Paul Nolden, pastor of Walnut United Methodist Church, officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded. There is no visitation.


In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.

Paul Covill


WALNUT — Paul G. Covill, 68, of 301 S. Second St., Walnut, died Sunday, June 22, 2008, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.



Born Jan. 15,1940, in Amboy to Gordon and Hulda (Spencer) Covill, he married Charlene Valt May 12, 1962 in Walnut. She survives.


 He worked at Homeway Corp. in Walnut, Walnut Cheese Co., V & C Construction in Walnut, and most recently at Bureau Valley North as a custodian. He also was self employed as a window and screen repairman. He served in the U.S. Army for three years and was a member of the Walnut American Legion Post 179. He was a member of the Happy Hookers Fishing Club in Walnut and the Walnut Fire Department for 18 years.



Also surviving are two daughters, Teri Regal and Paula Covill, both of Walnut; two grandchildren, Christopher Robert Osborne and Jacob Raymond Osborne, both of Kewanee, and best friend, Minnie.



He was preceded in death by his parents.



Cremation rites were accorded and a memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut with Rev. Paul Nolden, pastor of Walnut United Methodist Church, officiating.



There will be no visitation.



A memorial has been established in his memory in lieu of flowers.
