FRANK  E.  COLLINS

 

Frank Collins Rites Will be Held Thursday

 

Tampico: - Frank E. Collins, 89, funeral services will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tampico.  The Rev. A. M. Weitekamp, pastor of the church will officiate.  Burial will be in the St. Mary's cemetery.

 

Friends may call at the Schmitt Funeral Chapel this afternoon and evening. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. this evening.

 

Mr. Collins was born in Tampico, the son of Robert and Margaret Collins. He was reared and educated in the Tampico community. He was married to Julia Gahagan in 1894.

 

He was employed as constable of Tampico for a number of years; worked as a blacksmith and operated a threshing machine in the area;  was an engineer for the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy railroad and for the H.Y. and T. railroad.  He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church of Tampico and was a past member of the Locomotive Engineers association.

 

Survivors are one daughter, Ellen, San Francisco, Calif.; and one son, Thomas; three nieces, including Mrs. Gladys Rydbeerg, Galva and one nephew.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife, who died in 1948, one child in infancy and his parents.
