JULIA  CALLAHAN

 

Julia A. Callahan, 88, formerly of 1012 11th Ave., Rock Falls, died Thursday evening at the Sterling Care Center after a short illness.

 

Prayer services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the Grennan Funeral Home with a Mass of the Resurrection at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew's Catholic Churck, Rock Falls, with Rev. Raymond Kearney, officiating.  Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Tampico. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m.  A memorial has been established in her memory.

 

Julia Callahan taught school in the Sterling-Rock Falls area for many years.  She was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Rock Falls, the Altar and Rosary Society, and the Legion of Mary.

 

Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Charles (Katheryn) Brown Sr., Sterling; Hazel Callahan, Sterling; and Mrs. Don (Mary) Glassburn, Rock Falls.

 

Preceding her in death were her parents and three brothers.
