LEONA  A.  (Anderson)  RUSHTON

 

Leona  Rushton Succumbs Tuesday

 

Mrs. Leona Rushton, 58, 412 2nd Ave., Rock Falls, died Tuesday evening at Community General Hospital.

 

Funeral services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at the Wheelock-Allen Funeral Home with the Rev. E. A. Henrichs, pastor of the Rock Falls Immanuel Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Tampico Memorial Cemetery. Friends may visit the funeral home Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

 

Leona  A. Rushton was born Feb. 28, 1919 in Fairfield Township, the daughter of Stacy L. and Emma E. Rassmussen Anderson. She attended local schools and was united in marriage to Mylis E. Rushton, Nov. 11, 1939 at Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The couple lived their entire married life in Rock Falls.  Mrs. Rushton was employed at Sterling Steel Ball Plant until her retirement due to ill health.

 

Survivors include her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stacy Anderson, Sterling and one sister, Mrs. Merle (Lola Mae) Marx, Sterling.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mylis, and one brother in infancy.
