GONE, BUT NOT FORGOTTEN

Ebenezer PITNEY died at the home of his son, Owen D. PITNEY, in Tampico, Ill., Monday, Oct. 5, 1896, eighty-three years of age.

Ebenezer PITNEY was born in Conneaut, Ohio, in 1813, and for many ears followed sailing for a livlihood [sic] upon Lake Michigan. He moved to Como in 1865 and a few years later came to Tampico, making his home with his son O.D. He has been a great sufferer for many years, but will all his afflictions he bore up manfully and uncomplainingly. He leaves a son and two daughters to mourn his loss. The funeral took place Tuesday afternoon at the Pitney House, Rev. G.A. WELLS officiating and the remains were taken to Yorktown for burial.(Tampico Tornado)
