HELEN  E.  NEWLON

 

Prophetstown: - Helen E. Newlon, 79, 36 Meadow Lane, Prophetstown, died Sunday at CGH Medical Center in Sterlilng.

 

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the  St. Catherines Catholic Church with Rev. William Morrison, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.  St Catherines Women's Society will say a rosary at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Gardner Funeral Home and visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

 

A memorial has been established. 

 

Mrs. Newlon was born Jan. 28 1910 in Mineral, the daughter of Samuel and Amy Billett DeReu. She married Willilam H. Newlon March 28, 1932 in Hooppole.  Mrs. Newlon was educated in the Hooppole schools and farmed with her husband in the Prophetstown area for 35 years.  They moved to their present home in 1974. She was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church and the Women's Society of the church.

 

She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Charles (Neva Jean) Emery of Prophetstown, three grandsons; one great-grandson, and one sister, Marguerite Vetter of Hooppole.



She was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers.
