Prophetstown: - Mrs. Augusta (Gussie) Angell, 99, passed away at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Morrison Community Hospital, where she had been a patient for the past six weeks.
 
The body was taken to the Gardner Mortuary and funeral services were held at the Gardner Chapel at 2 p.m. Monday.  The Rev. William Dupree, pastor of the Congregational Church, officiated and burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Prophetstown.
 
She was born Oct. 29, 1953, in Germany.  Her father was Karl Dodge. She came to the United States at the age of 12 and lived in Geneseo. She was educated in Germany between the ages of six and 12, and received the remaining of her education in local schools.  Mrs. Angell had been a resident of Prophetstown for the past 68 years.  In 1884 she was married to Draper Angell of Prophetstown.
 
Mrs. Angell was a charter member of the Woman's Relief Corps and the Minerva Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. She belonged to the Prophetstown Congregational Church.
 
Surviving are two sons, Arthur of Davenport and Frank of Prophetstown, with whom she resided;  four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
 
She was preceded in death by two stepsons, one brother, one sister and two half-sisters.
