WALTER  LOUIS  PLAUTZ
 
Prophetstown: - Funeral services were conducted at the St. John Lutheran Church of Wheaton, Minn., for Walter Louis Plautz, on May 17, at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Leonard F. Klug.  Interment was at the St. John Cemetery.
 
His six nephews served as pallberers:  Dean Sandrock, Curtis Plautz and Orval J. Johnson of Prophetstown; Leonard Plautz of Ogema, Wis.; Marvin Polte of Walnut, Ill., and Virgil Plautz of Sterling.
 
Honorary pallbearers were:  Henry Thomsen, Paul Walz, Fred Licktsinn, Johnny Kuehl, Art Krumwiede, Orval Dobbs, Harry Totzke and Les Aukes.
 
Walter was born on the 27th day of October, 1902, to Frank and Jennie Plautz at Rock Falls. He was received, as an infant, into God's Kingdom by Holy Baptism.  As a youth, he was confirmed into the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Rock Falls.
 
On Jan. 6, 1925, he was united in Holy Wedlock to Emma Sandrock by the Rev. William Krebs. To this union three children were born, two daughters and one son.
 
Walter and his family lived in this community until 1940, when he and his family moved to Wheaton, Minn.  Besides farming he also was in the real estate and auctioneering business the past 20 years.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, DeWayne; two brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife Emma; two daughters, Betty (Mrs. Howard Baxter) of Moorehead, Minn., and Marjorie (Mrs. Willard Krumweide) of Wheaton; twelve grandchildren; two brothers, Harold of Prophetstown and Delbert of Rock Falls; one sister, Mrs. Orval W. Johnson.
