LONA  (Jones)  PIERCESON 

Mrs. W. Pierceson, 78, Dies In Rock Island 

Prophetstown: - Mrs. William R. (Lona) Pierceson, 78, passed away Monday afternoon at the St. Anthony Hospital, Rock Island, following an extended illness. 
 

Funeral services will be held at the Gardner Chapel, Prophetstown, Thursday afternoon, at 1:30 p.m., Richard Sprague, pastor of the Church of Christ officiating, with burial in Tampico Memorial Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday afternoon and evening. A memorial has been established in her name for the Church of Christ. 

Lona Pierceson was born Dec. 4, 1889, in Yates Center, Kans., the daughter of Benjamin and Lucy Jones.  She was educated in Kansas and Yorktown schools. She married William Pierceson on March 17, 1909, in Yorktown and they moved to Prophetstown from the farm in 1965. 

She is survived by her husband, one son, LeRoy Pierceson of Rock Island; one daughter, Darlene Ulman of Rock Island; one brother, Harry Jones of DeKalb; one sister, Mrs. Helen Potter of Morrison; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.  

She was preceded by her parents and three sisters.
