Mr. Gerald E. Miller, age 68, of 204 Ave. D., Rock Falls, IL and formerly of Tampico, IL died Friday, January 18, 2002 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling IL.

Mr. Miller was born on March 25, 1933 in South Dakota, the son of Chester and Esther Fetting Miller. He was united in marriage to Myrna J. Kitzmiller on June 10, 1955 at Polo, IL. And she preceded him in death on November 10, 1999. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and he was an electrician at Northwestern Steel and Wire Co., in Sterling for 32 years and retired in August 1986.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Jerri (Jody) Cantrell of Rock Falls, IL and Mrs. Sarah (Rod) Kuepker of Deer Grove, IL, two sons, Ted (Phyllis) Miller of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Tim (Kristi) Miller of Sterling, IL, 12 grandchildren, 6 great granchildren, 3 sisters, Betty Kuell of Rock Falls, IL, Joan (Ernest) Schultz of Sterling, IL and Judy (Glenn) Virgin of Las Vegas, Nevada, 8 brothers, Pete (Louis) Miller of Dixon, IL, Gordon (Wanda) Miller and Clifford (Maxine) Miller, both of Sterling, IL, Earl (Pat) Miller and Curt (Murial) Miller, both of Mount Morris, IL, Denny (Leona) Miller of Milledgevill, IL, Lester (Shirley) Miller of California, and Ronald (Linda) Miller of Dixon, IL and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was prededed in death by his parents, wife, six sisters, and one brother.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 22, 2002 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Sterling, IL, with pastor Johnathan Singleton officiating. Burial was in Tampico Memorial Cemetery. Garland Funeral Home in Tampico was in charge of the services. Graveside military rites were accorded. A memorial has been established in his memory.
