LAWRENCE  W  HIXON

Lawrence W. Hixon Dies on Saturday

Lawrence W. Hixon passed away at the Elgin State Hospital at 6:25 p.m. after an illness of several months.

Funeral services will be held at the Wheelock Funeral Home Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Paul Bloomquist of the Fourth Street Methodist Church, officiating.  Burial will be in the Tampico Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Hixon was born in Sterling, August 2, 1888, the son of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Hixon, deceased.  His early life was spent in Sterling and Rock Falls. He served as assistant fire chief of Rock Falls several years and was also in the electrical department.

He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Glen Phillips of California and one brother, Herbert H. Hixon, of Evanston, Ill.  Mr. Hixon was a veteran of World War I.  Rock Falls Legion Post 9902 will have charge of the services at the grave.
